Kitikmeot Economic Development Commission (KEDC)
In 2010, in order to respond to increasing employment opportunities resulting from an expanding regional mining sector, the KEDC contracted RT Associates to develop an Aboriginal Skills and Employment Training Strategy (ASETS) Business Plan to Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC). Under the plan (approved in August 2010), KEDC is to deliver an ASETS program with a value of $11.2 million over a five-year period from 2010/11 to 2015/16.
