Robert has over 34 years of economic development experience in Nunavut, Northwest Territories and Northern Ontario. Prior to establishing RT Associates Ltd. in 1986, Robert held a number of senior posts within the GNWT’s Department of Economic Development and Tourism, including Regional Superintendent (Baffin Region), Director of Policy and Planning, and Assistant Deputy Minister. When Freedom is Lost (published by University of Toronto Press 1983, reprinted in 1986 and 1990), a book on economic development in Canadian Aboriginal communities that is widely used in Canadian universities. For the last few years, Robert has focused on Community Economic Development (CED) projects and strategic planning, and is an acknowledged expert on the CED process.
